Shillong

Derives name from Shillong Peak (1961 mts. above sea level), history says that Shillong named from a Mythical Youth, ‘U SHYLLONG’- a supernatural boy born of a virgin Mother, who lived in ‘BISSI’.

Cherrapunjee

The world’s wettest place known as Shora, which was pronounced “Churra” by the British. Today people call Shora – ‘Cherrapunji’ means land of oranges. Standing at a height of 4,869 foot.

Mawsynram

Holds Guinness Book of World Records, Mawsynram received 26,000 millimetres (1,000 in) of rainfall in 1985. Mawsynram received 745.2 mm of rainfall on 19 August 2015, probably the highest rainfall received by the town to date.

Dawki

The Indo-Bangladesh border town in West Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya, India. Famous for clean bedded river – Umngot.

Mawlynnong

Asia’s cleanest village recognized by Discover India. The village is situated at East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, India. Famous for Balancing rock, Living root bridge & 100% literacy rate, or a women empowerment scenario that the rest of the world can only dream of.

Garo Hills

Famous because most of the places are yet untouched (virgin), tourist or nature photographers come to see the rich flaura and fauna, like the famous Lighting Mushrooms, also Wari Chora, Siju Caves – Asia’s longest limestone caves, Balpakram Wildlife, Imilchang Dare and more.
