Guwahati

Pragjyotishpura and Durjaya in ancient Assam (KAMRUP). The city is between the banks of the Brahmaputra River and the foothills of the Shillong plateau.

Kaziranga

Officially in 1908, the place was closed for shooting & in 1916 Kaziranga was declared as game sanctruary. In 1938, Kaziranga was opened for visitors & turned to wild life sanctuary & finally in the year 1974 KAZIRANGA was named as KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK.

Manas

Situated on the foothills of the Himalayas and a part of it extends to Bhutan. It was declared a sanctuary on October 01, 1928 & a world heritage site in December 1985. Manas is also known as UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site, a Project Tiger reserve, an elephant reserve and a biosphere reserve in Assam.

Majuli Island

Heritage River Island. It is renowned for its important satras, which are Hindu Vaishnavaite monasteries that are also centres for Assamese performing art, handicraft.

Sibsagar

House of the Ahom Kingdom, who ruled 600 years, it is surrounded by many ancient monuments of Ahom era.
